The Gaylord’s stunning atriums are like stepping into different parts of Florida, from the lush landscapes of the Everglades to the charming streets of St. Augustine. The attention to detail is nothing short of astonishing, making it an experience in itself just to explore the resort. A new restaurant is currently being built, as of writing this in fall of 2023, and it looks to be amazing.
Accommodations: The resort offers a range of comfortable accommodations, including spacious guest rooms and suites. We chose a room overlooking the waterpark, which provided a lot of fun entertainment in itself. There are also rooms overlooking the lush atrium, where you’ll be able to view the nightly light show.
Entertainment: The Gaylord Palms Resort boasts an impressive array of family-friendly activities. Kids will love the Cypress Springs Water Park, featuring a multi-level treehouse playground, thrilling water slides, and a lazy river that isn’t so lazy. It moves really fast! My Apple Watch thought I was recording a workout. The resort also hosts seasonal events and activities, such as ICE!, a spectacular ice sculpture exhibit during the winter months. Although it wasn’t set up when we were there, I’ve had a lot of friends say it’s an amazing experience.

Dining at the Gaylord Palms Resort is an adventure in itself. The resort offers a variety of restaurants and eateries that cater to all tastes and preferences.
MOOR (Address: 6000 W Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34746) – MOOR is a fine-dining restaurant that celebrates Florida’s coastal cuisine. With a menu inspired by fresh, locally sourced ingredients, this is the place to savor seafood delights while enjoying breathtaking views of the resort’s lush gardens. The restaurant is located on a pirate ship surrounded by water populated with Florida fish. We didn’t eat here this trip, but had a fun time walking around it.
Wreckers Sports Bar (Address: 6000 W Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34746) – If you’re looking for a casual spot to catch a game and enjoy classic American fare, Wreckers Sports Bar is the place to be. With an extensive menu of burgers, wings, and more, it’s perfect for a relaxed family meal. This is by far the most family friendly. It’s two stories tall and filled with TVs. We saw lots of strollers and kids running around.
Villa de Flora (Address: 6000 W Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34746) – When we looked up the menu online this appeared to be an Italian restaurant with woodfire pizza. We made a reservation for our last night and headed down eager to try their house made ricotta cheese and meatball pizza. However, it turned out to be a buffet-style mediterranean restaurant with an array of international dishes. The kids enjoyed the made to order pasta (pick your pasta, sauce, and toppings). The adults tried the lamb pops, rib eye, assortments of cheese and salads, and of course a very extensive desert bar. The deserts were tiny enough that you could try many.
