Orlando isn’t just about theme parks and mouse ears; Orlando also has some of the best water parks! From America’s #1 water park to the largest wave pool in America, you can find it all here. If you’re looking to add some wet and wild fun to your Florida getaway, you’ve hit the jackpot. Here’s a rundown of the top water parks in Orlando, where the fun flows as freely as the water!
1. Aquatica Orlando
Dive into Aquatica Orlando, where the water slides come with a side of marine life and the wave pools are as soothing as the ocean itself. Located at 5800 Water Play Way, Aquatica has something for every age range. From a wave pool, to a (very fast) lazy river, a playground/splash pad, and a multitude of different sides. My son was 5 at the time and able to ride the majority of the waterslides. Try out the Dolphin Plunge, a slide that shoots you through a clear tube surrounded by playful dolphins. Just try not to scream too loud, or you might startle the dolphins! You can see me go down this slide in the video below.
Best time to visit: Hit Aquatica in the late spring or early fall to dodge the peak crowds and enjoy milder weather. We visited in early September, and although some of the concessions were closed down, the park was bustling but not overwhelming. The sand around the pool was hot however. Don’t forget to check out their website for any cool seasonal events!
2. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

At 1145 East Buena Vista Boulevard, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon offers a tropical paradise with a twist of Disney magic. This is home to America’s largest wave pool! Plus, who can resist the lazy river that offers a much-needed break from all the adrenaline rushes?
Insider tip: Look out for the Miss Adventure Falls, a family-style raft ride that’s as much about the journey as the destination. Follow their Instagram for adorable pics and updates.
3. Universal’s Volcano Bay

Step into 6000 Universal Boulevard, where Universal’s Volcano Bay awaits to transport you to a Polynesian paradise. The park’s centerpiece, Krakatau, is a volcano that not only looks stunning but houses some of the park’s most thrilling water slides.
Insider tip: Grab a TapuTapu wearable when you enter to hold your place in line digitally, freeing you up to enjoy other attractions. Check out their Twitter page for live updates on ride wait times and more.
4. LEGOLAND Florida Water Park

Located within LEGOLAND at 1 Legoland Way, Winter Haven, this water park is perfect for families with younger adventurers. Although not specifically Orlando, but rather one hour south, I wanted to include it as an option for those visiting with younger kids. From Build-A-Raft River to the Duplo Splash Safari for toddlers, it’s built to ensure that even the littlest visitors have a big time.
Best time to visit: Go in May or September when Florida’s weather is still more than warm enough for water fun but the crowds are thinner. Keep up with Facebook for promotions and event announcements!
Wrap-Up
Orlando’s water parks offer a refreshing escape for every family or group of friends. Remember, the best times to visit are usually outside the peak summer months to avoid long lines and intense heat. Pack your sunscreen, grab your water shoes, and prepare for an unforgettable aquatic adventure!
