Best Time to Visit
- Splashin’ in the Sun: The best time to visit SeaWorld is during spring (March to May) or fall (September to November). Why? Less crowd, more fun, and you won’t feel like a lobster boiling in the Florida sun. We went in early September and although it was still pretty hot, the lines weren’t terribly long.
- Avoid School Holidays: If you can, try to visit when the kiddos are still in school. Less time in lines means more time watching dolphins do backflips!
Tickets and Prices
- Daily Tickets: Prices vary, but expect to shell out around $80 to $100 for a day’s entry. Keep an eye out for online deals! We got a deal by bundling our visit with Discovery Cove and Aquatica.
- Annual Passes: If you’re a sea-life enthusiast, consider an annual pass. It pays for itself in just two visits!
- Inside Scoop: Sometimes, hotels or third-party websites offer bundled deals.
Age-Appropriate Fun
- Toddlers (Ages 0-5): They’ll love the Sesame Street Land, with its gentle rides and colorful characters. I also enjoyed the rides.
- Young Kids (Ages 6-12): Ready for some moderate thrill? The Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin exhibit is a must-see! It was pretty chilly in there and smelled of fish but, worth it! You can see more of this exhibit in my full YouTube video.
- Teens: Roller coasters like Mako and Kraken will keep their adrenaline pumping!
Stay Near, Stay Dear: Accommodation Options
- On-Site Staying: For the full experience, check out the official SeaWorld hotels. Perks include free shuttles to the park and early entry on select days. We stayed at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel across the parking lot. This allowed us to walk over to the park AND watch the fireworks from our hotel room with sleepy kids in their PJs.
- Nearby Nesting: Plenty of hotels are within a flipper’s reach of the park. From budget-friendly to luxury, there’s a pillow for every head!
Tips and Tricks
- Download the App: It’s like having a compass that guides you to show times, ride wait times, and even the nearest restroom.
- Bring a Poncho: Trust me, Shamu’s splash zone isn’t messing around. You’ll end up with water squishing in your shoes the rest of the day.
- Stay Hydrated: Florida heat can sneak up on you like a ninja. Bring a water bottle, there are plenty of refill stations.
- Fast Passes: If you hate lines as much as soggy fries, investing in a Quick Queue Unlimited pass is a game-changer. We didn’t do this, but saw a lot of people taking full advantage at SeaWorld and definitely at Aquatica.

- Dolphin Nursery: Witness baby dolphins doing baby dolphin things. It’s cuteness overload!
- Shark Encounter: Walk through a tunnel surrounded by sharks. It’s like being in a submarine, minus the claustrophobia.
