This year for my birthday, my friend surprised me with a little Sunday outing to Sincerely Succulents — a DIY potting bar and plant boutique tucked away at Maree Farms in Fort Myers, Florida. And let me tell you… it was not what I was expecting — in the best way.
Picture this: a quiet, rural spot down the road from Buckingham Farms, surrounded by tropical greenery, chirping birds, a calm little pond, and even some tortoises just casually living their best lives. It felt more like a peaceful plant retreat than your typical birthday stop.

🌵 What is Sincerely Succulents?
Sincerely Succulents is part boutique, part DIY experience — the kind of place where you can get your hands a little dirty and leave with something cute, personal, and totally Instagram-worthy.
Here’s how it works:
- First, you pick out your pot (they have tons of cute options!).
- Then you head outside to the planting area, which is covered and open-air, surrounded by greenery or inside (ahhh air-conditioning). The indoor space had beautiful artwork on the walls, making it a cozy and creative environment.
- We each chose five mini succulents (because why stop at one?), and got to work creating our own little arrangement.
- After planting, you get to decorate with moss, glass beads, rocks, and other fun touches.
It’s simple, calming, and really fun. The best part? Everyone who works there is genuinely kind and helpful — which made the whole experience even better.

🐢 Unexpected Bonus: Tortoises & Tranquility
We took our time wandering around the property and just soaking up the peaceful vibes. There were big tortoises, tropical plants growing everywhere, and that kind of quiet you don’t get very often in Southwest Florida.
If you ever need an escape from the hustle (or just want an activity that doesn’t involve a screen), this is your place.

👩🌾 Next Door: Buckingham Farms
On the way out, we passed Buckingham Farms — which looks like a farm-to-table restaurant and fresh market. It was closed (because Sunday), but made a mental note to come back.
From what I’ve learned since:
- Buckingham Farms serves breakfast, lunch, and early dinner during the week.
- They grow their own produce, raise animals, and serve scratch-made meals using ingredients straight from the farm.
- It’s also a popular spot for takeout meals, wine slushies (yes, please), and local goods.
They’re open Tuesday through Saturday, and they even offer catering and event space rentals.
So now, we’re planning a summer outing to go back with the kids — DIY succulents first, lunch at the farm next.
